ENAP holds thematic talks on World Environment Day
Santiago, June 10, 2024 – As part of the celebrations for World Environment Day, ENAP held a series of thematic talks dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of conserving endangered species.
One of the most notable talks was the one presented by Mankuk, represented by Gerardo Soto, who shared his experience and knowledge in the study of the Canquén Colorado, a threatened bird that lives in the region. The talk, titled “Population census of Canquén Colorado: Season 2023 – 2024, cooperation agreement between ENAP Magallanes and the Ministry of the Environment”, provided an in-depth view of the current state of this species and the conservation measures implemented for its protection. .
During the presentation, Soto provided detailed information on the results of the Canquén Colorado population census, highlighting the challenges and opportunities that this bird faces in its natural habitat.
