Mankuk Consulting & Services: Sponsor Oficial del Primer Evento Internacional de Amoniaco Verde en Latinoamérica.
The next NH3 Event Latam 2024 will take place in Chile on April 10 and 11 at the spectacular Vista Santiago Event Center. It will be the first version in Latin America and the first summit on green ammonia in Chile, which makes it great news for lovers of green energy.
The event is organized by the NH3 event Europe Foundation, based in the Netherlands, whose founder is Hans Vrijenhoef, president of the Ammonia Energy Association, and different topics will be discussed that are of great interest to our country, as a future exporter of green energy. . For Mankuk, it is very important to participate in this type of event, to discuss the key aspects to manage the environmental and social risks of this type of project, in order to develop a low-carbon economy, but responsible for the environment and our communities. .
Green ammonia, also known as renewable ammonia, is a form of ammonia produced using renewable energy sources and is proposed as a sustainable and emission-free alternative with a multitude of applications in industry and other sectors.
Ammonia (NH3) is a chemical compound based on nitrogen and hydrogen widely used in the production of fertilizers and industrial chemicals. Currently, ammonia is produced from natural gas and in its production process it emits 2 tons of CO₂ for every ton of ammonia. For this reason, conventional ammonia is called gray ammonia. The current market has a volume of about 185 million tons globally. Approximately 90% of them are produced and consumed captively in industries that need ammonia as a raw material in their production processes. The remaining 10% is sold internationally.
Green ammonia, on the other hand, does not emit CO₂ in its production process, so an exponential growth in its production is expected, which will replace gray ammonia and can be used for other additional uses. In addition, ammonia is considered an energy vector, since it allows the efficient transport and storage of hydrogen, which is essential for future green hydrogen producing countries such as Chile, which need to send it to distant destinations, where an additional process called “cracking” which consists of dividing the NH3 molecule again to recover the hydrogen contained in it.
The NH3 Event Latam 2024 will be a crucial space to explore technological advances, business cases and emerging opportunities around green ammonia. And it promises to be a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of green ammonia, with more than 200 participants, 30 renowned international speakers and an ideal environment to make meaningful connections.
